Artificial Societies
A design exercise set by Artificial Societies, focused on their platform Radiant. The brief: redesign the persona chat feature, one of the oldest, least-loved parts of the product, which let users click into a survey response and start a conversation with the AI persona behind it. Real client feedback flagged the core problems: no clarity on when or why to use the chat, lost conversations after logging off, no visibility into who they were talking to, and no way to trust whether responses were grounded in real data or invented. I designed a v2 of the persona chat that addressed each of these directly, along with a rebrand overview extending the same thinking to Radiant's broader visual identity. The brief also required designs to account for two distinct persona types: anonymous personas shown by job title only, and public figures shown with name and photo, each needing a different level of context and trust signalling in the chat. I explored the interface through UI and wireframes in Claude Design, then built a fully working prototype in Lovable to test the interaction model beyond static screens.
